At Preface, we know that lifelong learning engagement for the next generation doesn't stop at the classroom door - or even after graduation.
That's why we've teamed up with young professional organizations that are dedicated to continuing to make a difference and fighting for Equality Through Education. Together, we've facilitated interactive guest reading sessions by local Community Champions for students all across America - proving that when our communities come together, everyone thrives.
Our Initiatives
X
In partnership with the Alpha chapter of Pi Beta Phi, Preface has launched a national Community Champions Initiative to provide consistent supplemental reading instruction for classrooms all across the United States.

Leveraging Preface's pioneering virtual infrastructure and pre-existing classroom relationships, members of Pi Beta Phi from Princeton University are reading to elementary school classrooms across America on a weekly basis. Together, we're creating invaluable additional time for teachers to prepare future lessons while simultaneously cementing reading best-practices and literacy gains for the next generation.

Together with the Princeton Varsity Club, Preface has teamed up with brilliant student athletes to record downloadable bilingual stories for use both inside and outside of the classroom.

With consistent access to the internet still posing a challenge for families all across America, this Community Champions Initiative aims to create a library of multilingual story-times that can be easily downloaded and stored offline on a wide variety of electronic devices - with new stories in Mandarin, Spanish, French, Italian, and more being uploaded regularly.

In partnership with the Gwinnett Young Professionals (an affiliate organization of the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce), Preface has partnered with passionate leaders to bolster community engagement and showcase solidarity during these unprecedented times.

During Read Across America Week 2021 (the first in history to take place during a global pandemic with sustained hybrid learning models), young professional leaders from a variety of industries were featured as Guest Readers in local classrooms - using Preface's virtual tools to read to and engage with classrooms of elementary students safely, securely, and effectively.
