Will we have additional administrative burdens as a Preface Partner?
Not at all! All you need to do is say yes! Once you’ve confirmed your interest in becoming a Preface Partner, Preface’s experienced national team will handle the administrative logistics of partnership set-up and guide you through the process each step of the way.
The Preface model is unique in that it is intentionally designed to add no extra administrative hassle for already busy educators. Preface simply asks for an open line of communication to key educators and the school’s ad hoc support in ironing out logistical questions on the front end.
How are the Preface Ambassadors that will assist my school selected?
Preface partners with your Partner high school’s administrators, college guidance counselors, and teachers to screen, select, and train Ambassadors from within the local community - empowering neighbors to help neighbors!
Once we’ve identified and trained our Ambassador corps, the Preface team will work hand-in-hand alongside your administrators and teachers to match each Ambassador up with young students you’ve identified as potentially benefiting from additional assistance and engagement. Our pairings take a variety of factors and potential affinities into account, such as shared linguistic or cultural backgrounds, in order to maximize peer-to-peer commonalities and personal connections.
When will the Ambassadors be visiting my campus?
It’s completely up to you! The Preface Partnership is customizable for every school that we work with, and we work around your schedule to find a time that works for every community. Our team concurrently analyzes your schedule alongside your paired high school’s, and we work with you to identify windows of opportunity that work best for all.
How does the Preface Program look on a “day-to-day” for my school?
Our Ambassadors show up ready to independently and supplementally assist in your classrooms and armed with a variety of educational techniques. Depending on your needs, they will stand ready to read with their young students in smaller group settings, assist in ad hoc breakout instruction, or (in the event of a return to remote learning) engaging with their students virtually through our online Preface Portal!
How will the Ambassadors be trained?
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to education, so, in conjunction with your partner elementary school’s team of educators and administrators, Preface will first craft a tailored Ambassador training program for the specific needs of your community!
We then host a series of interactive training sessions for our Ambassadors to immerse them in that customized curriculum, to ensure that every Ambassador is up-to-speed in the best practices that work best for your area.
