Sumner McCallie
Expert Educational Advisor
The son of a US diplomat, Sumner spent his childhood in Africa and the Middle East, returning stateside to attend high school in Northern Virginia. A lifelong educator, with over 33 years of experience shepherding young lives in public and private schools from Switzerland to Tennessee, Sumner currently serves as the Dean of Faculty and Curriculum at the McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN - a boarding and day school consistently recognized as one of the highest achieving secondary institutions in the nation.

In addition to his professional educational endeavors, Sumner is active in a variety of humanitarian causes, most notably the Chattanooga chapter of Habitat for Humanity. During his leadership, the chapter has built 17 homes in Chattanooga and 15 residences internationally, including in Guyana, Portugal, Romania, Thailand, Brazil, and Tanzania.

Sumner graduated from Yale University with a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry and received his M.Ed from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College of Education and Human Development.
